WHAT THEY ARE ALL ABOUT
The mission of Kordal Studio is to create garments in an ethical manner by paying their workers a fair wage, designing garments that are not trend focused, and using natural and organic textiles whenever possible.
Mandy Kordal has been working and living in Brooklyn since 2009. After learning the ropes and discovering her passion for knitwear, she decided to buy her first knitting machine to create her own collection entitled Kordal, where quality and ethical manufacturing are an integral part of the brand.
The Kordal Studio hope is that you will carefully consider every purchase, including their own, just as they have considered every part of their design and production process.
WHY WE CARRY THEM
Maybe it’s not just in us to have the desire for a slower pace, but rather it is in our core to have a grounding that involves less. We appreciate their thoughtful process in their design, manufacturing, and materials. We’ve felt for ourselves the bar that Kordal holds for quality, and we treat their pieces with a respectful ready-to-wear balance.
“Purchase less, experience life and loved ones more, mend when torn, and return back to us when it’s no longer wearable.” - Kordal Studio
Materials are chosen with care, utilizing natural fibers, meaning they are plant or animal-based instead of synthetic, and stay away from harsh chemicals and toxins. Kordal also seeks out textiles that are certified under leading standards with social and environmental criteria, such as the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). By emphasizing natural and ethical, Kordal is standing behind renewable resources, which do not contribute to environmental degradation or human harm.
