...MORE FAVORITES FROM BABE WE LOVE,
JESS GALASSO, MAC RETAIL MANAGER + MAKEUP ARTIST:

My skin is more normal to dry depending on the time of year and I'm prone to hormonal breakouts. I have a lot of skincare I rotate depending on the day and because I'm an out of control skincare addict. My ride or dies in keeping my face calm, smooth, and clear have been the following:

MAC cleanse off oil for melting off makeup and leaving my skin soft, clean, and not stripped. Even if I am in a hurry and don't have time to do anything else to my skin or am lazy (let's be honest, it's generally the latter), this doesn't leave my skin tight and dry.

Garnier micellar water for removing stubborn eye makeup and for that next morning of "I slept in my mascara and have crunchy af lashes how do I get this off without ripping my eyelashes out". Bioderma micellar water has a cult following but to be honest Garnier is just as good and is half the price - we love a bargain.

Thayer's rose petal witch hazel to tone and prep my skin for oils and serums.

Herbivore lapis facial oil to moisturize, help prevent and treat breakouts. For me, this baby has been the best thing at balancing my skin's oil production. Even though I can be dry at times, my t-zone is really shiny by the end of the day and my bangs end up looking like clumped together linguine when I don't use this. It also helps with redness in the center of my face and helps calm irritated skin/breakouts for those moments of horror that I've been two inches from my mirror picking at my face for thirty minutes.

Shiseido facial cotton pads are the softest, durable, baby angel, precious things to come into my life. I use them with my toner and micellar water. They're incredibly gentle on the eyes and I end up using less product and fewer cotton pads with these. Bury these with me when I die, please.

My favorite account on Instagram is makeup artist Terry Barber. He's so inspiring, snarky, funny, and finds beauty in the most hilarious things.
Refinery 29 just did an interview with him.

Gardening has turned into one of my favorite things to do. This book is awesome for turning your produce into things you'll actually eat and it gives drool-worthy recipes utilizing your pickled and canned produce. I currently have tons of herb bombs in the freezer, jars of candied jalapeños pickling, and my peppermint leaves turning into extract.

When pruning roses, pulling up weeds, and battling birds trying to steal my strawberries, Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges, Sylvan Esso, Miguel, Lizzo, Jhene Aiko, Future Islands, and Childish Gambino are in heavy rotation blaring in my backyard. Sorry neighbors.

My favorite show at the moment is Insecurity on HBO. Issa Rae is a queen. She's hilarious, awkward, and smart. The writing is so damn witty and real. The clothing/styling is just so perfect for each character. It's just the best.

The women's Red Wing heritage collection has great boots for everyday wear and for outdoor work/play. I recently bought the Clara boot in black to be able to wear on my motorcycle and still be able to feel like myself off the bike as well as at work. It's the perfect balance of utility, style, feminine, masculine, and comfort for me. I wore them on my trip to South Dakota this past week where we rode our bikes through the black hills, camped, and stomped around mountain towns. It solidified my want for a second pair in brown.

My favorite summer to fall transition piece at the moment is the now sold out Hackwith Design House V-Neck Bow Top. The rusty orange color and oversized shape pairs perfectly with a big turquoise squash blossom necklace and denim. It gives me all the happy fall feels.
