Antique City
I have driven past the Walnut ( Antique City ) exit off of i-80 more times than I can count. My curiosity had gotten the best of me and when my mom and sister asked how I wanted to spend my birthday this year it seemed appropriate to drag them both there for a 5 hour antiquing excursion( they aim to please ).
The streets of Walnut are lined with big old houses with rap around porches and huge front lawns, it is a very well kept small town. You do not have to drive to far to reach the "Main Street", which by the way is 80% antique stores. Some store you have to dig more than others...but there are treasures to be found. If you want to mingle with the locals and grab a quick bite look no further than Haystackers..this is a no frills diner, but the food rivals any home cooked meal I have ever had...plus there is homemade pie. There are stores open everyday of the week, but you will rarely find them all open at the same time, unless there is a big antique event in town. Bring cash and reusable bags and I promise you will not go home empty handed!
This is what I found.
Some of the vintage treasure from Antique City can be found at the shop or browse our current online collection of vintage treasure as well!
